Republican Senators are now anxious to have the Senate act quickly on the peace resolution before the adjournment, which will take place shortly, in order to be able to tell their constituents that they did not delay the return of the peace status. It is considered to be a campaign movement. Few, however, believe that President Wilson will Rign such a resolution or that Congress will be abie to pass it over his vetq.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. Mr. Gampers, in an article in the American Federatjonist, charges Congress with failing to realise national completeness by abandoning the Peace Treaty, which involved the problems of the cost of livin and reconstruction.
