Ihe Lawn Tennis Association has received a challenge from France for the Davis Cup. As the cablegram is dated four days after entries closed a meeting of tho committee is being held to consider it. DAVIS CUP PLAYERS. Chrlstchurch, March 12. The British Davis Cup players, Messrs. Beamish and Lowe, are expected to reach Wellington on Monday, and come straight on to ChristchurcU by the Wahlno. The Mayor will tender them a civic reception on Tuesday morning. A special court has been prepared at Luncaster Park for games on Iriday and Saturday, when a Canterbury team ivlll meet the visitors.
