MAHOE SPORTS. SUCCESSFUL INAUGURAL MEETING. The first annual sports meeting of the Mahoe Athlellc Club, which was held on Mr. George Kelghley's property on Thursday was a thorough success, and quite justified the emu in arranging so comprehensive a programme for lis Initial meeting. The attendance was about four hundred. The various events attracted good entries, and competition was keen, particularly in the running e"Mi'.s Mr. R. Masters M.P., was amongst the visitors. The luncheon tent was conducted by the Mahoe ladles, and a refreshment stall was run by Mr. .T. Mills, of KaI'onp The principal officials wero: President, Mr. G. Jones; secretary, Mr. S. Kemp; handlcapper, Mr. J. O'Dea; starter, Mr. A. Rogers, and clerk of course, Mr. N. Sattler. In the evening a very enjoyable dance was held In the hall, which provided a happy Hnlsh to a most successful day's outing. The results were as follows: 100 Yards Maiden.—L. a. McCratken 1, D.
