NEW PLYMOUTH PROGRESS.
OFFICES FOR THE NEW ZEALAND INSUEANCE CO The directors of the New Zealand Insurance Company have accepted the tender of Messrs J. T. Julian and Sons, Ltd,, for the erection of new offices in New Plymouth on the site recently acquired from the Cunningham' estate, near the A.M.P. building. The building will be proceeded with immediately. The building, the plans of which were prepared by Mr. Tho«. H. Bates, architect, of New Plymouth, will be reinforced concrete throughout, including the floors, and will therefore be absolutely fireproof. It will consist of fonr storeys, and the cost will run into £16,000. It will have a frontage to Devon Street of 36 feet and a depth of 84 feet. The front elevation is particularly pleasing in design. ,0n either side of the entrance will be office.accommodation for letting'a purposes, access being gained from IhpNjj main entrance and the corridor which lends direct, to the commodious suite of ofliees which will be occupied by the New Zealand Insurance Company. On the. next three floors will be suite* of offices for letting purposes.
