MUNICIPALISING GAS WORKS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Danrfe-virke, Jan. 10. The Borough Council, after receiving a report rfom Mr. J. W. Blaekmorc, has decided to ask tiie sanction of the ratepayers to raise a loan of £i">,ooo to purchase the property of the Danncvirke I Gas Company and extend (he mains, etc. The price asked for the property by the company is £IO,OOO. . RESTRICTIONS ON SUGAR. Wellington, Jan. 10. The Prime Minister stated to-day that Cabinet had decided that restrictions would he imposed upon such industries its brewing and sugar boiling during the fruit season so as to leave as much sugar as possible for jam-making and fruit preserving.
