It is understood that the Railway Department, in pursuance of an extensive housing scheme, has secured a large area of land at Kaiwarra with the intention of laying out there a railway employees' settlement on modern townplanning lines. The Maponrika is replacing the Pateena on the Picton-'.velson run.
