-. .CO, _ FELTON v. BARBY. By Telegraph —Press Assn Copyright. London, Oet. 24. Felton rowed his flnnt trial this morning against a double-sculler stroked by Prldd'lo. His supporters declare that it was moat satisfactory. Felton Is very fit, In splendid health, and confident of winning. He says he wants the championship as much for Australia's sake as for his own, and' to justify the confidence of many Diggers who contributed a substantial proportion of Folton's money in small amounts. His Is pleased with the new boat built by Bowers Phelps, and says it is the best he over used. He believes he knows the course pretty well, though he considers It requires years to master the Intricacies of the current. Folton is now rowing in food form. Two riversMers, who arc Rood judges, cons'der that Barry is rowing almost, though not qulto, In the same form as when ho' beat Arnst, and has the advnntago of an Intimate knowledge of the course. On the other hand his age is ,'l7. Barry Is ten years Pelton's senior, and it remains to be seen it ho can stay the course as well as in juiv 1012. Barry will give away about two ' stone, though critics do not attach undue Importance to this.
The riversiders were always great admirers of Barry and consider he must win, though J'elton's form has now improved. On tho other hand Felton's trainers are confident Barry's friends believe that much depends on the weather, as rough water will suit PaTry's watermanship. Unsettled conditions prevailed to-day, after n prolonged spell of fine autumn we»t&«,—AUß,-.YZ, Cable AMU.
