HUGE GERMAN LOAN.
LOTTERY TO RAISE £250,000,000.

The Daily Chronicle's Berlin corns' ■ pondent states that the Berlin Government is organising a monster lottery, whereby it will create ten millionaires annually during the next eighty year* in order to raise £250,000,000. Five per cent interest will be paid when the certificates are drawn for repayment. Nineteen thousand prizes will be given annually, aggregating fifty million marks of which ten are of t million marks each, during the eighty ' years' currency of the loan. JTin# thousand eigfit hundred and seventy-five million marks will be distributed ag prizes. Tho deferred payment of interest is intended to encourage thrift, while subscriptions are repayable on demand with interest after twenty years, giving it the character of insurance.— 1 Aus.-N.Z.
