DAYLIGHT SAILING REGULATIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, October 23. At the Taimii inquiry W. 0. Campbell) assistant-manager for the New Zealand Refrigerating Co., gave evidence with veganl to aorrespondeiiee with the Marine Department regarding daylight sailing regulations. Instructions were given to the captains that the danger area must not be crossed Sn darkness, even if it meant delaying the vessel's voyage. Captain Williamson apparently sailed oh a certain date, contrary to the company's orders. Had he refused to sail his action would have been upheld and the branch officer who gave the order would have been called to aceount. He was not aware that the captain of the Mana. had violated the daylialit sailing regulations on several occasions.
