Service. MANAWATU HUNT MEETING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmcrston N., Last Night. The stewards of the Manawatu Hunt Club have decided to pay the full stakes in the last race to the owners of the first and second horses—Sir Fanciful and Master Boris —the former having been instructed to carry the wrong weight by the officials. EGMONT RACING CLUB ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Egmont Racing Club was heid at Hawera on Thursday evening, when Mr. J. Gray (vice-president)' presided over a good attendance of members. The chairman, in moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet (already published) said the past year was the best in the history of the club. The committee had under consideration a com-" prehensive scheme for providing further accommodation for the public, and also of beautifying the grodnds. Mr. Luttrell, architect, of Christchureh, had | notified that the plans and estimates would be finished next week. The most important work in regard to the buildings would be gone on with first, and the beautifying scheme would follow afterwards.
After some discussion on the beautifying and improvement scheme, the report and balance-sheet were adopted. Messrs. R. H. Nolan and J. Gray were elected president and vjce-president respectively unopposed. Mr. F. G. Kimbell was elected treasurer. The following were'elected the committee: Messrs. A. Good, W... Adamson, H. Washer, H. Spratt, N. Morrin, S. Adamson, R. Hicks, F. Purser, J. Crocker, W. O. Williams, C. Preston. The following were elected stewards: Messrs. A. Good, W. Adamson. C. H. Washer* W. Good, W. O. Williams, S. Adamson. R. Hicks, H. Spratt, J. CrOrker, Ni Morrin, C. Preston. A number of new members were elected. ■lt was resolved to recommend the committee to purchase an additional 10 acres 'of land. It was also decided that it be a recommendation to the committee that all complimentary ticket holders pay Is at the gates. This would give the club an additional revenue for carrying out improvements. Notice of motion was given by Mr. A. Mitchell that the system of blackballing in connection with the election of members be abolished, and that members be elected at the annual or general meeting of members by a show of hands. It was agreed that it be a recommend ation to the committee to give the training tracks special attention. • -The secretary was voted a bonus of £SO, and, further, it was agreed that it be a recommendation to the committee to reconsider the secretary's salary. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the outgoing officers, to the garden committee, and to the custodian (Mr. A. Mrose). —Abridged from Star. i '
