By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The cyclone or rMn centred in the tat north has accounted for considerable rain over the North Island, and north-east districts of the South, and scattered rain elsewhere. High east to south-east winds have ruled In and northward of Cook Strait, and varable breezes southward. Present Indications are for south-east winds, strong to gale, northwards of Farewell Spit and Kaltorara, and moderate and strong to increasing elsewhere. Cold and boisterous weather mar bs expected, with rain generally, and further heavy rain and rivers rising In many parts of the North Island. Snow on higher levels in the South. The barometer Is falling, but will rise everywhere shortly.
