PROGRESS IN SHIPBUILDING.

Received May 1, 5.5 p.m. London, April 30. The progress of British nhipbuilding for the first complete quarter of the year since the war is shown by Lloydb' register as 2,264,845 tons now constructing in the United Kingdom. The worldwide construction, excluding belligerents, was 779,260 toiia of tonnage abroad, 73 per cent, building in the United States and 303.058 tons building in the British dominions. The next leading I shipbuilders are Japan and Holland.— Reuter.
