DRIVERS? UNION TKOTJBLE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christeuurch, (Feb. 10. There was a largely attended meeting -of ike Canterbury Drivers' Union on Sunday, Mr H- Hunter, delegate to tie conference with the employers in Wellington gave an account of the negotiations, and reported regarding his visit to Dunedin, where he attended a meeting of the Dunedin Union- He said that he found the Southern drivers in a militant mood, and determined to (.•niulate the action decided on in Auckland and Wellington. He was able to inform the southern union of the prospect of a further conference on the following week, and that the understandino; prevailed that the Dunedin Union would defer their contemplated action for another week. After discussion the Canterbury Union decided that, m view of the possibility of further negotiation?, no action was to be taken in the meantime. ■ THE POSITION IN WELLINGTON. Wellington, Feb. 10. In accordance with the decision arrived at last week, the drivers did not start work until 8 o'clock this morning. An endeavor is being made to obtain a week's truce, as in Auckland, pending further negotiations in the dispute.
