It is one of the linest programmes yet presented here. To-morrow Kitty Gordon appears in an intense World drama "The Purple Lily." EVERYBODY'S. MARY MILES MINTER AS "BARBARA FRIETUHIE." There was a time in America when the whole country split into two factions over the slave question, and the North fought the South all through a disastrous Civil War That war ,vas. famous lor its small human dramas, its stfirtt romances and its family tragedies. Cii*e of the big deeds that lives longest is tlie action of old Barbara Frietchie. She was the old lady w;.o ran up the co intry's flag when the notorious '"Stonewall" Jackson marched into Fredericktown, and flaunted it beftro his army, while the human leader of an army ord;red his men to lea/e it there. That Historic incident is the basis of "Barbara Frietchie," the picture that heads the new programme at Everybody's tonight Alary .Miles Mimer plays the leading part in this beautiful story oi love and devotion, a story that would touch a heart of stone. HENRI FRENCH COMPANY. The Sydney Sun, in noticing the performance of Henri French, said: "From beginning to end iic maintains the attitude of a humorously intoxicated person, and his feats of balancing while in thai condition border on the marvellous. He rides on single wheels, performs the most difficult evolutions, dodges by a hair's breadth stage 'props' which it seems impossible for him to miss, and recovers in astounding fashion from the most difficult positions. One of the feats is to balance a glass of water in a hoop and then spin the latter with' gradually increasing velocity until the glass is lying flat on its side and depending solely upon the momentum for its grip on the • hoop. Not a drop of the water is spilt, even though French falls on his back, turns and twists, and acts in such a manner as to make it appear as though an accident must happen. Another very clever piece of work is his skating on bicycle wheels. This was both daring and graceful. The enjoyableness of the turn is heightened by the artist's clever comedy work. Altogether it was a performance that 'caught oil' at once, and which is bound to beextremely popular. The great French is showing at Inglewood on the 11th, and Stratford for ttvo nights, February 19 and 20.
