INFLUENZA EPIDEMIC.

CONGESTION AT THE HOSPITALS. Melbourne, Feb. 6. The hospital is congested and unable to admit further cases. The ambulances are insufficient to cope with the demand. Race meetings are entirely prohibited. The totals to date are 99 deaths and 1746 cases.

POSITION IN N.S.W, Sydney, Feb. 6. Several suspected cases of influenza were reported to-day. There was only ono death at Bulli, and six cases aboard inter-Stato steamers.
