The official report of a big private meeting of returned soldiers last night states that the greatest enthusiasm prevailed The meeting unanimously supported the Dominion executive's attitude in demanding the principle of retrospective allowances by right, instead of the gratuities scheme. The meeting also upheld the executive's condemnation of the appointment of a Ministerial Board of Repatriation, instead of a single Minister definitely responsible to the country.
The hope was expressed' tiiat all practical precautions woudl be taken to prevent trouble by the continued employment of women in certain positions formerly ocuupled by men who went to the ivm
