INGLEWOOD.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Inglewood, July 3. The concert in aid of Taranaki Church Army huts' funds was well patronised. The Mayor, in opening the proceedings, alluded to the good work of the Church, Army. Archdeacon Evans was present, and gave an interesting account of the work of the Church Army, mentioning that the huts were free to all soldiers of the Empire, and no charge of any description was made for anything. A very interesting musical programme was then submitted, and in every case an encore was demanded and freely given* The orchestra contributed several items, and songs were given by Misse3 Laing, White (New Plymouth), and Mr. Darlow; a duet by Miss White and Mr. L. Sutherland, and a 'cello and clarinet duet by Messrs Stockman and Sutherland, also recitations by Mr. Partridge, The second part of the proceedings wad a picture programme, entitled "God's Own Acre." The Rev. Harvie, in a neat little speech, thanked all who had assisted to bring the effort to such a successful issue. The Plunket Society is arranging for a monster euchre party, to he held in the Parish Hall, and excellent prizes hava been promised, consisting of a quarter of a ton of coal for the gents and an elabo-rately-worked camisole for the ladies. The object is a most worthy one, and a good attendance is anticipated.
