FURTHER DETAIL? By Telegraph.—Press Association. Tnihilpe, Feb. 25. Wliat appears like a premeditated murder in alleged to have .taken place at a bush contractor's camp at Karioi in the early hours of Sunday morning, when a man named Peter Larsen was killed by having his head battered in while he was asleep by a fellow workman named Jack Robinson. It is alleged that drink had been taken into the camp, and during ■Saturday night whilst playing cards a quarrel arose over the same, but the ;:ien parted, and went to their.respective beds. Some time afterwards Larson went ro .leep, and it is said Robinson came with some heavy weapon and struck the sloop* ing man a terrible blow, killing him instantly, as there was no evidence of a strafe. Robinson was arrested at Karioi and taken to Ohakune, where lie was remanded till to-morrow. An hupiest was opened which was also adjourned till Tuesday. • AN ALLEGED CONFESSION. Wanganui, Feb. 25.
