STRATFORD DEFEATS ELTHAM. i • * On the Eltham green yesterday three rinks from Stratford had a comfortable win against the Eltham Club, the final scores being: Stratford S5; Eltham 00. At the conclusion of play, Mr. Gow (in the absence of the president) expressed the pleasure of the club at. seeing the Stratford men that day, and hoped to have more games before the season closed. Mr. McDonald (vice-president) reciprocated the remarks, and thanked the home club for the kindness extended them. Although the green was heavy, the afternoon had been the most pleasant. At Stratford a challenge match that created some attention was played between Messrs A. Whillians and J. Anderson (Auckland) and Alf Moon and Stan Sharp (Stratford). The visitors soon had the measure of. their opponents, and after the first few heads the local champion (Sharp) was doing some stern-chas-ing, victory going to the Auckland pair by 28 points to ft The green was in \ery good order for play. ' FITZROY v. WEST END. • In the above patriotic match, which took place yesterday on the West Knd green, the visitors were defeated by ;"> points, mainly due to the poor showing of Rennell's team. The green was in good order, and an enjoyable game resulted. Special mention is due to the ladies for the excelled e of the afternoon tea.
