Mr Miissey recently cabled to the Continonwealth Government urging the re-, moval of the embargo, bo far as Kpw Zealand is concerned, on the export' of superphosphates from Australia, or that, at any rate, gupplies already contracted for might be allowed to be shipped. Mr. Massey ha« now been advised that permits for the export of superphosphates were withheld pending an inquiry as to local requirements, hut instructions have .subsequently been issued that, pending a definite decision, shipments were to be allowed to be sent to New Zealand In order to fulfil already existing contracts until February 28.
