A tricky wind somewhat spoiled an afternoon that passed very pleasantly to players on the Stratford green, where the home club was pitted against seven rinks from New Plymouth. Apart from the wind the conditions were good, and play always interesting. The contest ended in the defeat of New Plymouth by 29 points. At the close of play Mr. .McMillan, president of the Stratford club, congratulated New Plymouth on winning the banner in the contest with Pihania. He hoped in due coujse to see tlie Stratford club in New Plymouth in quest of the banner. On behalf of the club he appreciated the visit of New Plymouth, also the win. Mr. Brooking, president, replied on behalf of New Plymouth, stating that the hospitality of the Stratford Club and the ladies were so good that he hoped his club would have an opportunity of re-visiting Stratford. In the meantime he extended an invitation to visit New Plymouth (a visit will be made in February). He also congratulated the ladies on the very excellent afternoon tea provided.
