j ANNUAL SALE OF WORK. The annual bazaar and sale of work which was held, yesterday in St, Mary's Hall, under the auspices of St. Mary'a Guild, proved very successful, there -being a large attendance, whilst splendid business was reported The bazaar was opened by the Sight' Rev. Dr. Averill, Bishop of the Diocese, Mrs. Averill, ATchdeacon and Mrs. Evans being alao present.

The stalls were decorated to giv* a Japanese efleQt, mostly with feathery bamboo, and trails of ivy over a background of white. A very abundant pro- ' ducc and refreshment stall, presided over by Mesdames Orooke and S. W. Shaw, contained a beautiful display of decorated sandwich cakes and all sorts ,of dainties. There was a brisk business in fruit salad, ice cream, and afternoon tea.

Mesdames Kyngdon, Wilson, and Mackie were in charge of the plain linen stall, Mesdames Courtney and Eberlet the eiubroidojy stall, Misses K. Leatham and M. Blundell at the handkerchief and d'ovley stall.

A well-tilled jumble stall was in the hands of Miss Marshall and Mrs. I. Wilson. Mesdames Hammond and Hlrijt took care of the half-crown fanoy stall, Mrs. Grayling the baby stall, and Misses A. Wilson and W. Orooke the fancy stall. 1,

Afternoon tea was provided by Misws Wade, McKellar, W. Webster, and Armstrong; fruit salads and ice creams were dispensed by Mrs. Walker and the Misses Whitcombc and B. King; while MSas Devenish had a splendid pot plant stall Rnd did excellent business.
