BAND CARNIVAL.

A general committee meeting in connection with the carnival to be held in Pukekura Park on December 27, in aid of the bandroom building fund, was held last night. The programme sub-committee's report of their proposals for the day's events was confirmed. The programme includes a grand march in fancy costume, displays by the children of the West Knd, Central, and Fitzroy schools, swimming and life-saving events, errand boys' bicycle race, boys' tugs-of-war, decorated Biotor cars, motor cycles, cycles, gocarts, etc., fancy dress dancing, youths' races of 100, 320, and 440 yards, and 120 yards hurdles, and tight rope walking.

Various »üb-comraittee9 were appointed. It was decided that the day should be called the "Band Carnival." ■A meeting of ladies will he called on Monday afternoon next, at the Soldiers' Club, to appoint a ladies' committee. The general committee will meet again on Wednesday next at Mr. H. R Cattley's.
