Representatives of cheese producers interviewed Mr. Massey to-day with reference to the. price to be paid by the Imperial authorities for next season's output. They argued that they should receive the same price as the Canadian producer*, less the difference in freight and charges. The British Government, they said, was paying ll'/ t d for Canadian cheese, including die commission, the amount actually received by Canadian farmers being lOj'd. The New Zealand price on this basis should be lO'/jd, the difference in freight being one halfpenny. Mr. Massey said the position was being carefully considered. He was in communication with Ihc Imperial authorities. II" did not state the price, but it is understood the factories are likely to receive lOd.
