ENEMY ATTACKS BROKEN.

An Italian official message states: We broke up an enemy attack, preceded by destructive fire, at Vodice. Big enemy assaulting parties, covered toy violent artillery fire, attempted to approach southward of Castagaivjzza. We counter-attacked and repulsed them, capturing prisoners. . AUSTRIANB REINFORCED. BY DIVISIONS FROM RUSSIA. Times Service. Received June 10. 5.5 p.m. London, June 9. A correspondent at Italian headquarters states that the Austrian counterattacks were made in great strength and freshness of tenacity, due to +he arrival of more divisions from Russia, | four of them being identified as having taken pert in the latest -battles. | ITALIANS FORCED BACK. EFFECT OF AUSTRIAN REINFORCE- ' MENTS Times Service. Received June 10, 11.35 p.m. Rome, June 10. ' The Times' correspondent states that hard fighting at the Carso continues. In the morning the Austrians attacked >with great force, throwing waves of infantry behind a terrific curtain of fire, but our artillery was equally active. The Italians first lost ground, but heroically recovered it. The Italians lost the slopes of Hermada and are now back on the, tow ground facing the rise. On Tuesday they recovered the lost ground, but enemy reinforcements of men and guns drove them off. The Italian guns broke Austrian attempts to advance from Floiiaai. There has been a hurricane of fighting during the last three days, the enemy bitting hard and being carelesß of punishment. The Italians are cool and fresh, being a long way ahead on points. The serious feature is the large enemy reinforcements from Russia, bringing their guns, so that tho Austrian fire is strengthening as the fight progresses. PARSING SOCIALISTS FROM GOING TO STOCKHOLM. The Minister of the Interior announces that no passports will be given to Italian Socialists intendfhg to participate in the'conference at Stockholm, which is considered a manoeuvre by the Central Powers, helped by Russian extremists.
