The survivors of the torpedoed steamer, the Artist, state that they were in opeii boats in Arctic weather for five days. Seven died and their bodies wore thrown overboard, and two have been sent, to the hospital. The suH'irings were appalling. PRESS ATTACK OX Ml!. GERARD. Amsterdam, Feb. 12. The Berlin Lokal Anzeiger attacks Mr. Gerard for not placing the German diliiculties fairly before America. It adds: "Tf lie had been less friendly with the Entente, relations between America and Germany would not have been broken off.'
