PERSONAL.
Mr. Trevor 11. fleddis, sub-editor of the Napier Daily Telegraph, has enlisted for active service. His brother, Lieut. C. S. Oeddis, was wounded at the Somme, but returned to France several weeks ago. Mr. H. A. Wheeler, one of the National Secretaries of. tho Y.M.C.A., is at present in Melbourne, and at the end of this month will leave for New Zealand on an Association mission. He will visit New iPlymffuth about March 10.
Tho health of the Hon. Dr. MeNab, Minister for Marine, ■ Is causing sonic anxiety (writes our Wellington correspondent). Dr. McXab developed pleurisy with fiome complications after he had entered hospital owing to another trouble. He has been reported to he showing improvement during the last few days, hut Wednesday's bulletin was not quite so favorable. The many friends of Mr. Sidney Burgess will he pleased to hear that lie has passed his examination for a commission, and was to return to the front in January. Writing from Die training camp at Oxford to his father, he says that from all he hears he was lucky to miss the previous month in the trenches, where it had been very wet.
