i MONUMENT FOR FALLEM ; SOLDIERS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Taihape, Oct. 12. The Tuwharetoa Natives, who at the recent meeting at Tokaanui gave 25,000 acres of the Ohauko block for Maori soldiers' settlement, at the same time informed the Hon. Dr. Pomare that they would give £BOO now lying to their credit with the Public Trustee as a donation towards erecting a monument in Wellington to the memory of the Maori soldiers killed in the war. Messrs. Ngata, Parata, and Tau Henare are to be asked to confer with their people with a view to increasing the amount of the highest art stylo. The Maoris would like it to be erected in j front of the Parliament Buildings.
