The Morning Post's Pctrograd corropondent states that the Russo-Rou-manians have made rapid headway on the Dobrudja. having advanced from eight to twenty-five miles against stubborn opposition The enemy's left holds fast about Rasova, but the right has retired twenty-five miles, and tfc centre a little less. The Bulgarians suffered most as they were posted where they were exposed to bombardment across the Danube. General van Mackensen failed to hold a neck of land under thirty-five miles in width, and his front row is expanding. The Roumanians were supported by the Russian monitors which command the Danube. SUCCESSFUL ATTACKS. BY THE SERBIANS. Athens, Oct. 11. •A Serbian communique says: There are attacks on the wliole front before Monastir. We have been especially successful on the left bank of the Cerna and Beta, London, Oct. 1.1. The Allies took 2010 prisoners between October 1 and 10, Bucharest, Oct. 11. General Avercscu has been appointed to command the second army. General L'hristieseo takes over the Dobrudja command. London, Oct. 11. A German communique says: The enemy resumed operation in the Mania Valley. He retired in the Goerzeny Valley north-east of Parajd. Pursuit continues of the second Roumanian army from Braso. The War Office report from Salonika states: We occupied Topolova and Prosenik. The mounted men drove back the enemy cavalry two miles south of Seres. Rome, Oct. 11. M, Venizelos visited the Entente rjpresentntivos at Salonika and reviewed •2C,000 Greek revolutionaries. ROUMANIANS ATTACKED. ALONG THE WHOLE FRONT. Received Oct. 12, 5.55 p.' ~ London, Oct. 11. A Roumanian communique states: The enemy is attacking our 'whole front and we are retiring towards the right bank of the Maros and the left bank of the Aluta. In the Bazcui Valley we retired towards Crosna. We repulsed the enemy at Teures Vallev and progressed towards J>ol. . • ft ENEMY ATTACKS REPULSED. AUSTRIAN ADVANCE STOPPJiu Renter Service. I Received Oct. 13, 12.50 a.m. London, Oct. 12. A Roumanian communique states: Enemy attacks in Transylvania were repulsed, especially in the vicinity of Caineni and Vulcan Passes. A telegram from Rome states that fierce fighting continues in the vicinity of Brasso. The Austrian advance has been stopped, thanks to the arrival of new Allied forces. The Roumanian losses were small. ENEMY LINES CAPTURED. BULGARIANS REINFORCED • Received Oct. 12, 10 p.m. Paris, Oct. 12. A Salonika communique states: We captured the first enemy lines on the heights westward of Ghevgeli. Tne Bulgarians on the left have beer reinforced, and are desperately resisting the Serbians. The Allies during ten days have taken 2020 prisoners
