Mr Maurice Bowler, of Hood's Pharmacy, who is well-known in New Plymouth and Stratford, received telegraphic advice last evening that his services had been accepted for the New 1 Zealand Medical Ambulance Corps, and he will proceed to camp on Monday. Mrs. J. P. Luke, Mayoress of Wellington, arrived in New Plymouth by Wednesday's mail train, and had a conference with Mrs. C. H. Burgess, Mayoress of New Plymouth, with reference to Christmas cheer for the soldiers. Mrs. Luke returned to Wellington yes/ terday.
