Thirteen hundred and Bixty-two jandidates drawn- from the Auckland, Taranaki and Hawke's Bay provinces sat for , examination. Teachers were examined in ' "The Art and Principles of Teaching." ■ The examination of scholars was based upon the international lessons for April, 1 'Hay and June. The section covers a portion of the story of the beginnings of the Christian Church as recorded in uhapters 3 to 18 of the Actst of the ■ Apostles. Candidates receiving the three [ highest numbers of marks in each grade are awarded honors prizes. Those securing 85 per cent, of marks also receive j prizes.
