PUBLIC SERVICE SUPER--3 ANNUATION,. By Te'egraph.—Press Association. - Wellington, August 14. ! • At the quarterly meeting of the Pub- - lie Service Superannuation Board, allowances aggregating £2120 Gs per annum, were granted to contributors retiring by reason of old age oi length of service. Three contributors, retired a« medically unfit for duty, were granted allowances totalling £204 lis per annum, and statutory amounted to £3S3 per annum were granted to 2fi widows and children. The chairman of the Finance Committee, Mr. J. H. Richardson, reported that the investment of the fund | by the Board, was producing satisfactory results, and that it is not con- . sidered that there will 'be any difficulty . m keeping the fund closely invested. j CHILD RUN OVER AND KILLED. ' Auckland, August 14. . , A little boy named William Moore, . iged'six years, was run over by a motor car in Onehunga to-night and killed. Deceased was-crossing the road at the time. \ - ■ SUPREME COURT. Palmerston North, Yesterday. The Supreme Court opened this morning, Sir Robert Stout presiding. There were only four criminal cases. The 1 Grand Jury found a. true bill in the case of Robert Walker, who was charged with theft from a' bedroom in a hotel. The '■ case is proceeding.
