WEDDING.
"PEEBLES-KILBRIDE. h The marriage of Mr. George Peebles, eldest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. A. Peebles, and Mis 9 Kathleen Kilbride, second daughter of Mrs: and the late Mr P. Kilbride, of Ngaere, took place on Wednesday, August I, at St. Joseph's Church, Eltham. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father Cahill, who also celebrated Mass. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. J. Kilbride, was daintily gowned in ivory crepe de chene and wore a handembroidered veil, arranged over a mob cap and sprays of orange blossoms, and carried a shower bouquet of violets, snowdrops and maidenhair fern. She also wore the lyidegroom's gift, a gold wristlet watch. She was attended by her two sisters, the Misses OoTothy and Margaret Kilbride, as bridesmaids, who were attired in pinafore dresses of prim-rose-colored crystalline, witli saXe blue ninon blouses -and large black ruched crepe de chene hats, lined with saxe blue. They carried posies of yellow spring flowers and wore the bridegroom's gifts, | a cameo ring and gold chain and pendfnt respectively. Mr. H. Ewnblow actel as best man and Mr. N" Keardon as groomsman. Mrs. O'Hagan presided at the organ. The wedding was of a quiet nature, owing to the bride's brother and other relatives being at the front, only immediate relatives of the bride and bride;jroom being present. The happy couph: left by motor-car for the south, vliero lilt? honeymoon is being spent. The bride's travelling costume was of a navy blue, trimmed with black military braid, inid she wore a navy blue hat lined with shell pink. The presents were liumerct.s, and included several cheques..
