All reports agree that a grave political crisis has arisen in Austro-Hungary over the Isonzo disaster. It has demoralised the Government and shattered public confidence. July were 14,500 killed, 07,000 wounded, , and 4000 missing. j j WIRELESS BATTLES, Berlin, August fi. Daily wireless battles are taking place between the belligerent stations. A dispatch from Lugano states that Italian messages are blocked by the more powerful Gewnan stations, which fill the air with flashes to prevent the Italians sending news of their victory to the outer world. Official: Germany has declined to ne- ■ gotiate further regarding the Allies' offer with respect to relief in occupied territoijjs. Britain agreed to release as food for the Serbians, if necessary, two thousand toils of Roumanian grain controlled by the Allies, but she has now r informed the Central 'Powers that as l they possess enormous stocks of food- - stuffs in Roumania, they must provide . for the Serbians in future.
