BLAZES AT TRENTHAM.
STORES DESTROYED By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Two fires occurred at the Trentlwm camp to-day. The tint took place about 11 a.m., and destroyed a large master's stores, containing a large quantity of saddlery, bootmakers' stock, and other goods, practically nothing being saved. About 2 p.m., a second blaze occurred ii. the quartermaster's bulk store, which contained a large quantity of clothing, and the A.S.C. fodder store which was in the same building. The clothing was saved, but the fodder was consumed by the flames. No other buildings wore damaged. The Camp Fire Brigade did good work, ar.d the Upper Hutt brigade arrived to aid in the later stages. The fire will not interfere with the equipment of the Expeditionary Forces. The amount of damage is considerable, but no estimate is yet possible.
