Mr. Stan Hall, who has been employed as butter-maker for the Midhirst Dairy Company for the past eight years, has been appointed manager of 'the Uruti Dairy Company. On Thursday last, the stafl of the Midhirst Dairy Company presented Mr. Hall with a'tea service 011 his severing his connection with the company. Mr. Kleeman (manager), in making the presentation, referred to tlie good feelings that had always existed between the recipient and the other employees, and to the fact that the butter turned out rnder Mr. Hall's supervision had always been of the highest grade, and lie wished him the best of luck in his new sphere 01 operations. The Midhirst Dairy Company's crearacrio3 and main factory are receiving milk every day after Monday. The settlers on the Stanley Road have decided to sever their business connection with the Midhirst Dairy Company. New buildings are being erected, and it is intended to go in for the manufacture of cheese. The new company hope to start operations at the beginning cf next month.

Mr. W. Power, the newly 'appointed secretary of tht Taranaki 'War Relief Association, took up his duties to-day. Mr. Power is a returned soldier who left with the main body, and went through the Gallipoli campaign, but, unfortunately, contracted enteric fever, which necessitated his discharge from the forces. Prior to leaving New Zealand, Mr. Power was in the service of Messrs. Ceo. Thomas and Co., of Wellington, and since his return has been acting as cashier in the Defence Department. The Association are to be congratulated in securing such a capable officer as secretary.
