—«»■- ».— NEW PLYMOUTH, CLUB. On Saturday, matches were played on the Waiwakaiho links, the entrance fees being given to the Patriotic Funds, which benefitted to the extent of £5 15s. In the morning n mednl round was played for a prize of six golf balls. The best scores were: W. Attrill (10), 75. S. Wyllie (18), 81. N. Absolum (25), 82. G. M. Dailev (l(i), 84. P. Grey (l(i). 85. C. Sampson (18), 88. In the afternoon a medal round was played for a golf bag, presented by Mr. A. 8. Hasell. The best scores were: G. Cogh'ill (27), 81. W. A. O'Callaghan (5), 82. F. W. Sutton (14), S4. W. H. Wood (20), 84. H. R. Bloxam (23), 84. J. Brash (26), Bt. Matches have.been arranged for today at the Waiwakaiho links as follows: Morning, bogey match; afternoon, fourball bogey; entrance 2s for each match, net proceeds to go to patriotic funds. These matches arc open to all players of registered clubs, and will be played on standardised handicaps. It is hoped that players will respond to these matches and help to swell the funds.
