Mr. George Flux, who is shortly retiring on superannuation, will be succeeded as headmaster of the Wellington South School by Mr. Thomas, headmaster of the District High School, iPahiatua. Mr.- Chatwin, of Mangatainoka, will succeed Mr. Thorns. Farewell services were accorded to Adjutant and Mrs. Home at the Salvation Army yesterday, when there were large attendances. To-morrow night a public farewell social will be given the departing officers, and on Thursday morning they leave for Palmcrston North. Mr. A. Corkill, a prominent settler of Tarata, who is leaving that district to take up his residence in Inglewood, though still retaining his Tarata interests, was entertained by Tarata settlors at a smoke concert and presented with a ease of pipes. Mr. E. J. Ible made the presentation.
