... A COURT-MARTIAL. THE SKEFFINGTON CASE. London, June 1. The court-martial in connection with the shooting of Skeffington commences in Dublin on Tuesday. The accused, who are named Bowen and Calthorpe, are Irishmen who had seen service at the front. IRISH PRISONERS. AN APPEAL FOR LENIENCY. London, June 1. Mr. Dillon appealed for magnanimous treatment of the Irish prisoners. Mr. Asquith said the Government's policy was to use the leniency and cleme'ncy consistent with the vindication of the law and the prevention of the recurrence of the outbreak. About 800 had already been discharged. The prisoners had been given power to appeal to an advisory committee, to which the Government was adding two Irishmen.
