CONTINUED LOYALTY.' REVERSES RECEIVED WITH CALMNESS. RECRUITING CONTINUES GOOD. Delhi, May 14. The fall of Kut and the recent Irish disturbances have been taken with remarkable calmness in India. The former seems only to have strengthened the determination of Hindustan to carry the struggle to a successful issue. The press generally aipplauds General Town-shend's splendid defence and the gallant efforts of the relieving force, and regards the incident as a temporary setback. Recruitiiiig for the Indian Army continues good, especially among the .Tats, certain Rajputaua classes, the Punjabis and the Mohammedans. Interna] affairs, despite the absolutely false stories of rebellion, mutiny and jbloodshed which have appeared in .America, and which were disseminated by German agents, remain perfectly satisfactory. There is peace oil the border, and the huge population of India is tranquil and not unprosperous.
