ADVANCE ON BAGDAD. ■RUSSIANS ALMOST WITHIN STRIKING DISTANCE. Times and Sydney Sun Services. Received May 13, 5.25 p.m. ; Petrograd, May 12. ' floports state that the Russians are Htoying' towards Bagdad, and are within thirty miles of Khanikin. The meuntaim difficulties have been overcome, and the Russians are following up the Turks, who Me now entering the Tigris .valley. A strenuous Turkish resistance is expected at the strongly fortified position of Khanikin, where they will be itroogly reinforced.
