lIOL\ TRINITY CHURCH. (i'rom Our Own Correspondent.) Stratford, Yesterday. The annual meeting of the parishioners ef the above Church was held in the Parish Hall last evening. The Vicar, Rev. C. H. Howard, presided over a fair attendance. The balance-sheet showed receipts f7o."i 7s 3d, and expenditure £7Ol 5s '2(l. The V'ie;)r, in adding to his report, said he wished to place on record Lhe work of ill'. A. C. Bell, vicar's warden, Mid the secretary, Mr. E. C. Middleton. The report and balance-sheet was adopted. Mr. A. C. Bell was appointed vicar's warden, and Mr. W. H. Young people's warden. The fallowing were elected to the Vestry: Messrs. Rogers (Cardiff), .Simons (Midhirst), Maunspll (Toko), W. H, Were (Toko). G. S. Rutherford, F. Dixon, W. J. Crawshaw, N. F. Fletcher, G. W. Mills, Williamson, E. C. Middleton, and H. Kivell (Stratford). Mr. Bell said credit was due to the lady collectors, and suggested that they should meet the vestry quarterly and discuss matters with them. Further special mention, should he made of the services of the choir and organist, who have given a lot of- their time to furtlier the church interests. Mr. G. W. Mills suggested that committees should be appointed in the country districts to assist the vestry. The Vicar could meet the parishioners in the different districts, and ask them to elect their committee, and he felt sure it would be in the interests of the church. Mr. W. H. Young thought the suggestion a gaed one. Mr. A.. Budge objected to those present appointing the committee. It might be left to the vestrymen appointed to the different districts. GENERAL Mr. Edgar Colsen. s6n of Mr. T. D. Colson, of Stratferd, and head butter maker for the Mangateki Dairy Company, has enlisted, and will go into the training camp in June. A motor car collided with a motor cycle and side chair at the corner of the East and Standish Roads, near Toko, yesterday. The occupants of the motor cycle received some bad cuts and bruises, and had to receive medical attention. The many friends of Mr. Ralph Doughty, son of Mr. W. Dsughty, will be pleased to hear that he has received a commission as lieutenant in the Australian 'Field Artillery. Lieut. Dauglity was born and educated in Stratford, and was for many years in the employ of Hallenstein Bra".' local branch. Leaving here he went to Australia, mid joined the artillery in Sydney, and left with the main body. He has been right through the campaign.
