MISCELLANEOUS. The matter of appointment of the Crown arbitrator tor expiring Education leases was left in the hands of the chairman.

Mrs. (j. E. L. Burfitt, lessee of Section 12, Block VII, Omona, 312 acres, asked if the Board would allow her to transfer, as she is unable to carry on. — -It was resolved to inform licensee that ■the Board is prepared to recommend for ■approval an application for transfer to ■a suitable landless person under the special circumstances. Mr E. Tolme, Crown Lands Ranger, reported on inspection of 110 holdings, totalling 80,817 acres. Improvements required £18,201, effected £43,044, defaulters for improvements 10, residence 2, residence and improvements 1; of these. 4 are on active service.

Mr. E. A. Meredith, Crown Lands Ranger, reported on inspection of SO holdings, totalling 32,551 acrts. Improvements required £12,045, effected £30,237, defaulters for improvements 10, residence 0, residence and improvements 4; of these 7 are on active service.

The Commissioner of Crown Lands submitted a statement of Crown tenants in arrear with rental payments after the statutory demands had been made for payment.—lt was resolved that defaulters be warned that unless payment be made before May, 31 next tiie Board will take the necessary steps to recover the arrears.

Mr. G. C. Tothill (Njsamatapouri), on behalf of himself and four other settlers in the Whakaihuwaka Block (Taninaki District portion), situated in Tua and Kaparn. Survey Districts, . applied for rental remission for a period in terms of Section 127 of the Land Act.—Tt was resolved that, the Government be recommended to apply the provisions of Section 127 of the Land Act. It was resolved to re-enter and determine the lease of E.R. 4411, part I\akaramea town belt, G acres 2 roods 10 perches, for non-payment »f rent, and that action be taken for recovery of the debt.

Crown Lands Ranger Meredith forwarded a report on E.R, Section 25, Hua and Waiwakaiho District (H, F. Cane) as to non-compliance with requirements of lease re noxious weeds.— Six months' grace allowed in which to comply. Crown Lands Ranger Meredith forwarded reports on E.R. 1, 2 and 4, Section 180, iPatea District (Hawera), 4 acres 2 roods 3!) perches, 3 acres 3 roods 311 porches, and 4 acres 4 perches respectively, proposed to offer for leasing by tender under ,the Public Bodies' Leases Act, 1 DOS.—Jt was resolved to offer the areas for lease by tender for ii period of two years at the following minimum rentals: 'lot 2 £2O "per acre, lot 4 £lB per aire. The Board in committee dealt with six applications for consent to mort•gage, all of which were granted at the Ruling rates of interest.
