TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB.
DISTRICT COMMITTEE MEETING. . The District Committee met last night, there being present: Messrs. L. A. Nolan (chairman), 0. W. Sole, A. L. Standish, N. King, W. Weston, F. Orhell, S. Pitt, A. Good, ,T. McLeod, G. Fraser, W. Phillips, A. Alexander, B. H. Chancy, J. Gray, and W. Hobkham. An application for a jockey's license was not granted. Inward and. outward correspondence was dealt with. COMMITTEE MEETING. The committee of the club met after the business of the District Committee was concluded. Present: Messrs. L, A. Nolan (in the chair). 0. W. Sole, A. L. Standi?]), N. King, \V. Weston. F. Orbell, •T. McLeod, G. Eraser, W. Phillips. A. Alexander, B. H. Chaney, and W. Hookham. It was decided to accede to the request of the Pukekura- Park Board and authorise a J-in. pipe to be taken off the Club's water main to enable the Board to obtain a supply of water for the top lake. The Hon. 0. Samuel and Mr. L. A. Nolan were appointed to act as the Club's representatives at the Racing Conference to be held in July next. Messrs. Samuel, Nolan, and S. Watson were appointed a sub-committee to consider notices of motion for the forthcoming racing conference. A donation of £lO Ids was voted to the New Plymouth Tourist and Expansion League. Several transfers in connection with the . South Taranaki. Stakes were approved. Accounts amounting to £B3 Os 6d were passed for payment. .It was decided to advise the conference that owing to lack of unanimity by other clubs in supporting the suggestion of the conference to pool all funds, the Taranaki Club would, for this year at any rate, devote its profits to the local patriotic fund.
