METHODIST CHURCH.
QUARTERLY MEETTN&. The quarterly meeting of the Plymouth circuit was held in the Whiteley Hall last night (Tuesday). Ttoa Rev. A. E. Chappell, M.A., presided. Tht Rev. C. IT. Olds, B.A. was also present, and there was a fair attendance officials. The financial statement prated eminently satsifactory, the quarter fading with a credit balance of nearly £9. The returns from the country preaching places, with scarcely an exceptioi showed an increase on the previous quarter. The circuit's contribution of £SB 14s 3d towards the Home Missloa fund establishes a record for the year just closed.
Arrangements were made for rtiiiUig funds to meet the evpenses Of the church's work in the training camps; also for holding social evangelistic vices throughout the circuit during the winter months.
Resolutions of sympathy were" passed with the relatives of the late Rev. H. J, Lewis and Mr. J. S. Matson, and a reeo* lution of congratulation was accorded t<|| Mr. 0. W. Jackson on being received as a candidate for the ministry.
