By Telegraph,—Press Association. Wellington, Dec. 20. There was a threat of trouble on the Huddart, Parker steamer 1 Westralia today. When the vessel was leaving Lyttelton on Saturday night five men, owing to a difference with the master, went on to the wharf. On arrival at Wellington the remainder of the crew gave notice of their intention to leave the vessel. After a discussion between the captain and the Union secretary it was agreed that the Westralia would remain in Wellington till to-morraw to give the men at Lyttelton an opportunity to rejoin. If they do not others will be engaged. The notices to leave were withdrawn on this condition. SALVAGE. News has been received in Sydney thait Captain Curtis, of the steamer Chehalis, now on his way to salve the ex-German steamer Walkure, ashore at Papeete, has asked for authority to attempt the salvage of the four-masted Dalgonar. This vessel was abandoned in the South Pacific in the autumn of 1913, when bound from Callao in ballast to TiUtal, and after drifting about for some time was reported to have gone ashore at Maupihoa. She was a fine vessel #f 2505 tons gross, built in 1892, and as the abandonment was due to the shifting of her ballast the damage should not b? serious. In view of the high prices obtainable for sailing ships at prefer.!-, there is a sporting chance of Cantata Ortio pulling off a double event.
