HOMING NOTES.
Mr. D. Markham, of Opunake, writes: Will you kindly advise me if there is a Homing Olnli at \ T ew Plymouth? There is a carrier here, with rubber hand on leg. On inside of band the number is 909 or "M, and on the outside 183 (very faint), or I think that is the number. I shall be pleased to find the owner if possible, so that I can advise him. X 0 doubt the above numbers will be registered at the various clubs. I am of opinion that the carrier came a long distance, as if. was rather exhausted on arrival, on 21st inst. I daresay it was driven out of its course by the rough weather. Each day it takes long flights, no. doubt hoping to pick up its bearing, but, like a bad penny, it "always turns up again." Strange to Bay, our place seems a port of call, or, I should say, shelter depot, during storms. Thia is the fourth caller, but the others have been more fortunate, as they were able to continue their flight after the "busters" bad abated.
