' FEARS OF A RISING IK A CONCENTRATION CAMP. | Sydney, Oct. 19. Giving evidence on his own behalf in the Kidman case, Major O'Donnell said that at one time a general rising of Germans at the concentration camp at Liverpool was feared and extraordinary precautions were taken. Double guards wore mounted aud important points of the road patrolled by armed officers in motor-cars. He was ordered one niglit to take 500 rifles and ammunition in motor lorries to Liverpool, in case of a rising. At the time many small tenderers were offering to supply the concentration camp and it resembled an organiced attempt to gain admission bv means of tradesmen's carts. A WHITE COUNTRY. WHAT AUSTRALIAN'S HAVE TO FIGHT FOR Perth, Oct, 10. Mr. Scaddan, Premier, at a recruiting meeting said the Australians had more to fight for than any other part of the Empire. Australia was practically the only white man's country in the world.
