HON. A. DEAKIN IN AUCKLAND., By Telegraph.—Per Press Association ' Auckland, Last- Night. - Hon. Alfred Deakin, who has thrice ■ been Prime Minister of the- Commonwealth, is sojourning in Auckland \ to- - day, on his way from Melbourne to San Francisco. He is president of the Commission which is to represent Australia' at the Panama-Pacific Exposition. He is a passenger by ijhe Niagara, and ;u----accompanied by Mrs Deakin and Miss Deakin, Early in the forenoon the visitors received a call from the Mayorof Auckland (Mr C. J. Parr, C.M.6.). They were afterwards taken on a mbtorcar trip'round the city. The party lunched with the Mayor, and this after-, hoon entered upon further Bight-seeing.
