TARANAKI AUTUMN SHOW.

One of the most pleasant and popular trips for holiday-makers is an excursion to New Plymouth, whose beautiful surroundings always appeal to those in quest of enjoyment. The best time to visit New Plymouth is undoubtedly the autumn, when the weather can be rcI lied upon, and when also the annual | Cattle Show is held. This takes place on I February 24th and 25th, and this year's gathering promises to eclipse all previous events. There are for horses competitions for | all breeds and classes, and in nearly all instances the prize-money will be supplemented by valuable trophies or specials. It is fully expected that the competitors in the jumping events will be the most numerous that have ever taken part at a Taranaki Agricultural Show. The choice breeds in both cattle and sheep should be well represented, and the exhibition of dogs will possibly be ] equal to anything yet seen in the North Island. fThere are classes for every breed, variety, and age, and the system and experience of the stewards never J fail to satisfy exhibitors. Anyone who owns stock of any description should apply to the secretary for a schedule, in which they will undoubtedly find classes to suit them. Entries close with the secretary, Mr. A. L. Humphries, P.O. Box 19, New Plymouth, on Saturday, February 13th.
